Purebred Chicks and Fertile Egg Sales
MURRUMBATEMAN, NSW
It takes 21 days to hatch a chicken egg from when incubation starts (not from when an egg is laid). I operate a weekly (Friday) loading/hatching schedule. Eggs are loaded in the incubator every Friday pm. On Day 7 & 18 the eggs are candled to check for fertility and healthy embryo development. Not all eggs loaded turn out to be fertile and not all fertile eggs hatch. After candling, numbers are adjusted below to reflect what is likely to hatch on Day 21. Actual numbers are not known until after the hatch is completed. After the hatch the incubator is emptied, chicks are tallied and placed in a brooder. They are observed for a day to make sure they are healthy and eating/drinking before they are collected on a Sunday morning.
Please be patient and remember - "don't count your chickens before they hatch"....
Hatched chicks will be posted for sale on the Home Page - Hatched Chicks Currently for Sale table. Call to reserve from there. This table is to be used as a guide only to upcoming hatches, no pre-orders will be taken.
